WHAT IS MOHHINGAR FISH SOUP: Mohinga is the national dish of Myanmar. It is often eaten for breakfast but also loved for lunch and dinner as well. It is a fish-based soup flavored with fish sauce and then spooned over vermicelli rice noodles. You can make a dish to your liking, more chili paste, more fish sauce, more lime, more cilantro….. you get the idea.
Moe MohHinGar is one of Yangon Style MohHinGar. There are different varieties of MohHinGar, depending on the regions. It is a popular breakfast item and radially available in every corner of towns and cities in Myanmar. Nowadays, it is consumed throughout the day and included in major events like weddings, gatherings, and public/private events.
SUGGESTED COOKING AND SERVING INSTRUCTION: Boil 900 ml water and add Moe MohHingar Paste. Add four shallots and slices of two boiled eggs. Keep boiling at a low to medium heat for about 5 minutes or until shallots are soft enough. Serve the broth with rice noodle, cilantro, roasted-crushed red chili, lime, and fish sauce at your preferred taste. Please have a look at above short video for preparation.
